William M. Davenport, longtime local pilot, remembered
William Martin "Bill" Davenport, who was hooked on flying by the time he was 12, died Jan. 23. He was once one of the youngest flight instructors in the nation, led the commuter Long Island Airlines and founded Davenport Airlines and Aviation Specialists Inc. in Richmond. Burial was Jan. 25.
